What is the main factor that accounts for a successful Realtor? Hard work-Honesty-More Hard Work & Market Knowledge. I’ve lived in the Tri-Cities for 20 years - people here know me. I also have a good rapport with other agents in our market area, which is very important when it comes down to the negotiating table. Once you prove yourself and do a good job, this business gets easier.
Negotiation tips: Every negotiation and every client is different. It’s very important to be respectful and considerate at all times. People are inviting us into their homes and it is usually a very stressful time for all parties involved. There is so much more to an offer than price (although a very important part). I find that often when I break an offer down to it’s smaller parts, and take the time to listen to the client’s needs and wants, I can come to a mutually beneficial agreement. Negotiation is honestly one fo the most enjoyable aspects of this profession and it can make or break a transaction.
Words of Wisdom:Remember to put yourself in other people’s shoes. Always listen to what your clients have to say and find out what is most important to them. Always look out for their best interests and treat your clients fairly. Tell your clients what they need to hear (not necessarily what they want to hear). Remember you are building clients for life, so do right by them and watch your business grow.

Home Inspection Services
Here is a sample list of Registered Home Inspectors that do a lot of work in the Tri-City area.
It’s recommended that you phone a couple of different companies, and make sure that you feel comfortable with what services they will and will not provide in the inspection report. Pricing can also vary between Inspection Companies. Please note that this is simply a small list of qualified home inspectors that work in the area. Inspector’s now require a license to operate in BC. Please go to www.cahpi.bc.ca for more information on Inspection services and always ask to see your inspector’s license. It is also beneficial to have an inspector who has at least one trade ticket, as he/she would then be well trained in the systems of the home.
